Women's Basic Bill of Rights
I have this on the refrigerator in
large print.
I have the right to have rights and to stand up for them.
I have the right to dignity and self-respect.
I have the right to consider my own needs.
I have the right to self-fulfillment.
I have the right to be left alone.
I have the right to express my opinions and
wishes.
I have the right to ask for what I want.
I have the right to say "no"
without feeling guilty.
I have the right to offer no reasons,
explanations or excuses to justify my behavior.
I have the right to make mistakes--and to
be responsible for them.
I have the right to be listened to and
taken seriously.
I have the right to set my own priorities.
I have the right to be successful.
I have the right to negotiate, to offer a
compromise position.
I have the right to make decisions.
I have the right to change my mind.
I have the right to choose not to assert
myself.
Decisions about rights must be based on my
own feelings, the strength of
those feelings, and the possible
consequences of my actions.
